A mix of tasteless and funny-- sometimes in the same cartoon, like the one where a construction worker remarks on a female dog carrying a donkey-- I'm not sure how well this will stand up to repeat readings.  It's one of the few books I've bought since the project started, and that was only because I laughed out loud at a few of the cartoons, including the one of the dog reading The Courage to Heel.  Hillary Clinton appears in one cartoon (one of the more tasteful), but the "scrapbook" is actually from 1987.  In it, Callahan explains (facetiously but somewhat truthfully) his sexual history, including the changes after he became "paralyzed at twenty-one in a car wreck."  I almost want to use the "biography" tag, but this isn't like Maus.  It's a personal book but not exactly factual.
