Pogo, Prisoner of Love

1969
Walt Kelly
Pogo, Prisoner of Love
B-

Not as good as earlier collections, this still has its moments.  The intertwined plots are that Pogo's male friends want him to run for President, with cushy jobs for themselves, while his female friends hope he'll choose one of them to be his first lady.  Oh, and there's Captain Kidd's treasure chest.  Kelly briefly addresses feminism, but the marriage plot takes over.  There are also references to war, but actually less specific than in Prehysterical.  Some things, like Albert losing his voice, feel like retreads.

This is sort of the last of my Pogo collections, as 1992's Pogo Files for Pogophiles is more of a tribute.
